With over 20 years of experience, Sheletta Williams certainly knows a thing or two about design, but she also knows a great deal about people and their tastes.
A native of Louisiana, Sheletta Williams has been developing her personal tastes and sense of style since early childhood. “All my life, I always said I was going to be a designer,” she fondly recalls. Sheletta received her Bachelor of Arts, MBA and Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. She is a licensed interior designer and a member of ASID.
“Getting to know my clients and their personal styles is one of the biggest challenges of my job, but it’s also so rewarding,” says Williams. “I’ve had the opportunity to work with some families for two generations. You become very close. They trust you and you trust them, and you’re able to form this great, long-lasting relationship.”
In 2000, she founded Century 21 Shoppes. Her licensed, full-service design firm offers a comprehensive range of services from conceptual design to turn-key installations. Featured within her showrooms located in both Gonzales and Lafayette, Williams has amassed a cultured and replete spectrum of furniture, antiques, accessories, linens, custom drapery, and china.
“I love to work with people who have a vision and know what they like,” she says. “Then my job is to fine-tune that style and keep the project on course. The average person likes a mixture, especially the younger generation, who want simple, clean lines but to also keep traditional elements. Our team offers guidance for combining pieces and incorporating different styles, so the client can just pick and choose and direct us. We work closely with clients so we can learn from each other.”
Temples has a passion for design that she developed and nurtured from early in her youth. After studying interior design and pursuing an advanced degree in Business Administration, Temples launched a career as an interior designer. Her first venture, as the owner of a small business, enabled her to develop skills and experience to manage projects of all sizes, for every aspect of interior design. Her knowledge and appreciation of good design have been further enhanced by extensive travel to Europe. Temples has been a member of Century 21 Shoppes Interior Design Staff for the past 3 years, with the opportunity to manage numerous projects for residential interior design. She also functions as a buyer for Century 21 Shoppes, enhancing her ability to keep pace with the changing trends and products in the design industry.
Kimberly is a native of Los Angeles, Ca and brings her natural gift for creativity blending texture, color and flow to Century 21 Shoppes. She is known for her incredibly positive spirit, her enthusiasm, and her love of people. Kimberly thrives on connecting with people and has an innate ability to listen and translate what she hears into spaces that reflect your style and character. She makes the sometimes overwhelming task of home design a fun and informative experience. In-home consults are her favorite way to ensure that your design flows elegantly from room to room. With excellent computerized space planning skills, complete room measurement, fabric and color consultation, and artfully placed accessories, Kimberly can ensure that every detail has been well thought out. Having worked extensively with local home builders and traveled world-wide, Kimberly understands how our environment and life experiences contribute to the character and ultimate feel of our homes.
